Located in the heart of Downtown’s Arts and Entertainment District, the Marriott Hotel offers waterfront accommodations with a gorgeous view just minutes from the Port of Miami. For pleasure, enjoy fine dining and shopping at Bayside Marketplace or wander through the hip Art Deco District. Entertainment at the nearby Carnival Center for the Performing Arts features opera, jazz and symphony performances. Biscayne Bay Marriott also offers luxury hotel amenities such as a pool, fitness center and beauty salon to keep you looking and feeling great.

Special rates are negotiated for ESRF participants. ($165.00 single/double rooms plus 13% taxes.) The ESRF Executive Committee has also set-up special arrangements with the hotel so that participants wishing to prepay their rooms will not be charged the applicable taxes thus saving over $80.00 for the four nights stay.  For more information please contact Isabel Perez at iperez4@med.miami.edu.

The Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay is located within a short ride of the Metromover/Metrorail system from the University of Miami School of Medicine campus. The ESRF will provide free metrorail passes to those participants staying at the hotel.

Travel Awards

The ESRF encourages participation from as many qualified applicants as possible.  Since medical and graduate students live on a limited budget, the ESRF offers travel awards to help reduce the cost associated with travel expenses. Accepted applicants may be considered for partial travel awards based on financial need and abstract quality.

Medical and graduate students interested in applying for travel awards should indicate this on the online Abstract Application Form and enclose a letter from their Departmental Chairperson or Dean (not the research advisor or mentor) stating financial need.  To be considered for the travel grant the letter must be received before the deadline date you are applying for. Applying for a travel award in no way affects the acceptance or judging processStudents selected for travel awards will be notified in writing.
