Awards for Excellence of Research There will be awards given for both oral and poster presentations. The award listing described below is TENTATIVE, and subject to change. The purpose of the awards is to recognize and encourage outstanding research in the basic and clinical sciences. Students competing for awards must plan on attending selected activities. (See Awards Eligibility Policy) Overall Best Awards for Oral Presentation AMA Awards for Outstanding Research Three top awards are sponsored by the American Medical Association Foundation. These awards are for the following: Best Overall Clinical Oral Presentation, Best Overall Basic Science Oral Presentation and Best Overall Miller School of Medicine Oral Presentation. The awards consist of a $300 cash award and a plaque. Top award winners are also automatically accepted for presentation at the National Student Research Forum at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Oral Presentation Awards These oral presentations awards are given to those
participants demonstrating overall excellence of research. Each of these
awards consists of a plaque and cash award.
Poster Presentation Awards These poster presentations awards are given to those
participants demonstrating overall excellence of research. Each of
these awards consists of a plaque and cash award.
